Why I hate Forgeworld models…

So a week or two ago I was commissioned to build two Forgeworld Medusas because the person who originally bought them was completely fed up with trying to put them together. I honestly thought “how bad could it be?” Well the answer is very.
I pulled the models out of the bag and noticed right off that bat that they give you all of these extra interior compartment pieces which are pointless to the construction of the tank. You can not see the details unless you magnetize everything and since that was an adventure I did not have to go on, those pieces got thrown out.
Than to my shock and horror their were massive air bubbles on the tank’s hull. Now I wasn’t too concerned since they are hidden by the chimera chassis but it was annoying none the less, I had to cut them off like tumors or something to make it smooth. I then began the process of trimming off the excess flash and then I noticed how thin the armor plates are, definitely not good. After that time consuming project, I began dry fitting everything together and to my enjoyment… nothing fit together what so ever. I began using warm water and soap to clean off the wax finish and to bend the pieces into place, and for the most part I was successful, but from the pictures below, there are still noticeable gaps and holes in the armor because did not go together perfectly.
To get this current stage it took me over 5 hours and I am completely annoyed with these tanks. The only good thing is that once the green stuff covers the gaps, accessories and treads are added, and when its painted the errors on the tank will not be as noticeable… or at least I hope so.
This project was definitely a test of my skills and patience, but next time I am confronted with Forgeworld models, I will know what to expect!
